The Congos
Live at Maritime Hall
2B1 Productions (www.artistsonly.com)
Roots rockers The Congos are the latest in a string of artists, including Gregory Isaacs and Yellowman, to record live CDs at Maritime Hall for release on 2B1. The Congos hit classics like "Congoman," new tunes like the bouncy "Judgement Day," and even cover the Grateful Dead with a version of "The Wheel." The band is solid, tight, and flawless, a result of nearly 25 years of making music together. Cedric Myton's falsetto lead vocals, though, do take some getting used to, and if you're like me you might find yourself unable to really enjoy the band because of it. - Craig Tower
