A concert presentation

Listen

Danish Fiddle Quartet is a string quartet formed by violinist Jørgen Dickmeiss that plays modern Nordic folk music. The music moves in the border between the classical tradition and folk music and has a foot and heart in both genres.

The quartet consists of violinists Dickmeiss and Ditte Fromseier Hockings, Bruno Sanches on viola and and Mathilde Helding on cello. The quartet’s two singers, Ditte Fromseier and Jørgen Dickmeiss, can also be heard in several of the pieces.

This live concert was recorded at the Tønder Festival in August, 2023 as part of a series called Folk Spot Denmark.
We thank the ensemble and the folks at Folk Spot for allowing us to share this music with you.
