to help RootsWorld continue our mission.
We thank them profusely!

In 1971, in Woodstock NY, Ornette Coleman, Karl Berger and Ingrid Sertso founded the Creative Music Studio, a place and an idea that was to become one of the most important performance spaces for jazz, modern classical and the then-unnamed "world music" scene in the United States. On its 45-acre campus, hundreds of live concerts were recorded, many heralded as landmark performances. Many of these concerts featured combinations of musicians from jazz, classical and world music traditions that never played together before or after.

Originally, the plan was to offer the "world music" CD as our special offer, but Philip Blackburn at Innova generously decided to offer the complete 3 CD release to us instead. This 3 CD set is just the beginning of an archival process that will bring back many of those concert to an audience who has never heard them before. It's my privilege to be able to present the opening program in this process, with the help of CMS and Innova. - I hope you will consider joining RootsWorld in celebrating this important first release. - Cliff Furnald
