This rather mis-named book really explores the deep roots and history of JAZZ in its entirety. The publisher-chosen title comes from the fact that Roberts has emphasized the real Latin roots of America jazz in a way that has not really been done in jazz criticism. The book may be considered controversial by many main-line jazz "experts" but that's what makes it a good read. It's been a long time since someone stirred up the jazz pot with some radical thinking, and Roberts delivers. |

We are building this page using links to Amazon.com. They are reliable and usually pretty prompt with their orders, and offer fair prices. Please use the menu at the left for purchases, as we do make a small royalty (5%) on each sale (this does NOT cost you any more of your hard earned cash!), which enables us to provide this web site to you.

Try the public library or a nearby university first. This is especially important for out-of-print books, which we will from time to time suggest.
We also encourage you to support your local non-chain bookstore, as they are the true champions of small press publishing. Check with them first, and if you can't find it, then buy it here.
