"Fragments of Solbyn"

Ale Carr talks about his composition for The Secret North, an ensemble created for a live performance at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow in 2014. That is followed by the complete work, performed live at the festival.

"Fragments of Solbyn " (with commentary by Ale Carr)

Ale Carr is a composer and cittern player from Sweden. He works as a soloist and in many emsembles including Dreamers Circus and Basco.

The Secret North brings together 6 world-class musicians from Scotland, Denmark, Sweden and Ireland: Ailie Robertson on harp; Ale Carr on cittern; Donald Grant on fiddle; Kieran Munnelly on flutes, whistle and bodhran; Niall Vallely on concertina; and Nikolaj Busk on piano and keyboards.
